Changes for 2010

I am posting this info here, so that no one is totally alarmed that www.heathernix.com is down! I am getting ready to launch a totally new, wonderful, snazzy site! I am so excited for the new goodness that is coming! So my main site will be down for about 4 days. I will also send out this message on Facebook and email! I got to meet my steak!

I was invited out to the Clear Creek Ranch outside of Bangs to do a family shoot for Jenny, who is a fantastic lady! We had a great session and her 2 nephews were just doll babies! We also did some portraits with their cattle, so I got the chance to meet some of my favorite food! I am finding that I LOVE doing portraits on Ranches! So many cool places to use as backdrops!

Growing up!

These two little angels I first photographed about two years ago! They were a blast then, and they were even more fun this time! The best thing about being a children photographer is that I get to see all these kids grow up!

My Baby Joyce!

This is my niece Joyce! She is the second oldest of all of my nieces and nephews and is a total hoot! Her parents are going through a rough time, trying to help a family member, so Joyce has come to live with us during the school year! While we hate that her parents are having to deal with a very hard situation, we LOVE having Joyce with us! So don't be surprised if she shows up as my "assistant" during a session!

My Audry Hepburn Bride!

I LOVE wedding and Michele and Brian's wedding was an exceptional day! Michele is one of the coolest ladies I have met and she certainly knows how to throw a party! They are an amazing couple and Michele photographs SOOOO well! Both she and her maid of honor are part of the crew at Miller's Christmas Store here in Brownwood! So go check out their store and tell them how wonderful they are! Just look for the girl that looks like Audry Hepburn and say Hi!

Sweet Baby Girl E!

Sometimes, when your doing a session, the stars align, the fates inspire and all things are right with the world. That describes this session! Sweet Baby E was soooooooo cute! We got amazing portraits for this little 3 week old! Her parents were fantastic to work with! Especially since I had just had surgery a week prior to this session! I think they took care of me more than I took care of them! I can't wait for her 3 month session!

I have know Amber and her family for a while now and was so thrilled to do Baby E's first session! It was great fun, and big brother is amazing in front ot the camera! Total trooper too, when Baby E "christened" both of us right after this shot!

Hard Rock Family!

Okay, so I really am bad at blogging! I usually post sneak peaks to Facebook, but get side tracked in putting them here! BUT I am going to get caught up today!

This is a session from a few months ago, but Lysa and her family were a riot! Lysa has such a great spirit and teared up when she saw her family in portraits! She works with Renea, my sister in law, and Renea should have warned her! I firmly believe that I'm not doing my job if someone doesn't cry or go AWEEEEEEEE ! (I make Renea cry all the time with portraits of her son's:)

Meet Ty and Jackie! They are transplants from the DFW area and are teachers and coaches at Brownwood High School! I met them when they moved here, and we hit it off great! Their session was so great, we even did pics on the Brownwood Lions football field! I can't wait for the wedding this summer!

Back again with another session! This is Kendall and she absolutely ROCKS! Her session lasted over 3 hours because we were having so much fun! She was great to work with and was up for trying anything!

My Best Friends Kids!

Okay, so I realized the other day that it had been July since I last updated the Heather Nix Photography blog! Shame on me, because I have so many great sessions! So I'm going to start my blogging marathon with Taylor and Logan. They are the children of my very best friend in the whole world, Kristi! She and I have been friends since we were her daughters age. I went to their home in Abilene Kansas for a vacation to see them, so we of course had to do portraits in a wheat field!

Curly Girl!

Alexi and her cousin Tristin came out to the studio for family portraits this week. What a QT-patooty! Alexi is my curly-haired sister, but her curls are much cuter than mine are! Tristin's Daddy is serving in Iraq, so we a American theme just for him!

Our Cali Kids!

Briana, Jason and Cody are our niece and nephews from California who are here in Brownwood for a few weeks to visit! They patiently posed for Auntie Heather camera to get portraits that Mee Maw and Pops wanted! All three were awesome!

Peanut Has Arrived!

Anyone who has seen my portfolio has seen a young lady named Jordan. Jordan comes out to the studio to help me with ideas I need to try or work on. Well in June, she had her first child! This is Tripp and he was a perfect model, just like his momma!

Madison: Sneak Peak!

Madison came to see me for her 1 year birthday portraits and gave us some of the best faces ever! She was so smiley and fun! We did a very early session, and glad we did! Friday night was a huge storm and the studio does not have power at the moment! Madison did such a great job, I can't wait to see her at 18 months!

Amara: Sneak Peak!

Amara is my latest 2009 Senior and what a blast she was! We had a great time talking about school and boys :) She was willing to do just about anything and had some great clothes! So here is her sneak peak! I can't wait for Amara and her mom Renee, to see these!

Home Photography

I was contacted by a real estate agent in DFW who is working with a local Dr. to sell his home here in Brownwood. She called me up to photograph the home and all i got to say is I WANT A HOME LIKE THIS SOMEDAY! Its got everything, (even a place to have a studio:) I don't get to do work like this often, but it was fun and got to visit a great home! Now if anyone is interested in this home, let me know and I will put you in contact with her!

My New Nephew!

On March 25th, Jeff and I welcomed our 4th nephew! Our family was blessed with a 9 pound, 2 oz. baby boy! Of course, Auntie Heather had to go out to their home for his first portrait session! So here he is......Nathan Logan Stearns!

Olivia: Sneak Peak!

Olivia is a senior this year and I had the greatest time doing her session! This young lady is beautiful, down to earth and fun! We got to do lots of creative and classic shots! We also added in her little brother, but you have to wait to see those!

Jordan's Maternity Session

A lot of you have seen Jordan before! She has been *My Model* for several years. When ever I need to test out a new technique, or want to try a new idea, she has always been willing to come help out! I was so happy to learn that she was expecting her first child, so I invited her out to try some maternity shots! We got the chance to catch up, and got some glowing portraits of her in this special time in her life!

A Little Jewel! Miss Ruby!

Miss Ruby came to see me yesterday and let me tell you, this little bit-o-girl sparkles! She has tons of personality! After a few minutes of the Rainy Day Tempers....she was fantastic!

Miss Sassy Pants!

Okay, I just gotta say, there are some people that are just a kick in the pants and Kelcie is it! She was a hoot! She was game for anything! These are for her birthday this year and it was a great time! .....Now I only have to wait 5 more years to photograph her Senior Portraits!

MDA Lock Up for Jerry's Kids

Valentines Day!

What a cool bunch of ladies! My mother in law (whom I adore dearly) hosted a Valentines Day party in honor of her good friend Carol. She invited about 20 friends from high school and asked me to attend to document the event. What a great time I had listening to all these ladies visit, laugh and remember good times. Here are some of my favorites from the day!

Look at this little piece of sweetness! This kiddo was so sweet and just a joy to photograph! This was Mom's favorite! Mom is also expecting a third bundle of joy, so look for more sweet goodness from this family!

This family was sooooo adorable! They were having so much fun and you could feel there closeness! We had a great session with lots of different poses. Here is one of the whole family!

Paula & Curtis

I had the pleasure of meeting Paula and Curtis for this session! They have not had portraits done in about 20 years! They got the session as a gift from there daughter for Christmas and they did so well that they should NOT wait another 20 years for more!
